7th Grade

Dear fellow friends. This week I'll be blogging about my 7th grade year. In my first paragraph I'll be blogging about my memories that I made this year. My second paragraph will be about everything that's happened this year.
This year I've made so many new memories. Many of my memories include the Boston field trip, the Tang Museum, the trips to the Pine Bush and the farm field trips. The Boston field trip had to be my favorite field trip ever. I loved everything. The bus ride was my favorite. But my second favorite part was when I got my dinosaur from the gift shop and when I got McDonald's on the way back home. My favorite Pine Bush field trip was girdiling. I loved hitting the tree really hard.
This year I definitely learned who my real friends were. I loved walking into 7th grade the first day. Mostly because I love school so much. Learning is my favorite thing ever. I love that my mind expands when I learn new things. I love all the teachers that I had this year. Especially Mrs. Sittig because she's so funny. I love how she's strict. I'm so sad that this year is ending:( It definitely went by to fast. That's how my 7th grade was.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks blog. Make sure to check back at the start of next school year!! AGal out->>

Dear fellow friends! This week I'll be blogging about doughbits. In my first paragraph I'll be explaining what they are. In my second paragraph I'll be talking about how I made them. In my third paragraph I'll be explaining how they tasted.
Doughbits are are pretty much doughnuts but they are cut into longer pieces. Kind of like a churro stick just much tinier. My friends Nicholas and Caitlyn were over and we wanted to make doughnuts. But when they were in the pan deep frying they started falling apart into longer pieces. So we got the idea to call them doughbuts.
I made doughbits by finding a recipe offline. There were several ingrediants we had to use. We had to use flour, white sugar, shortening, vanilla extract, baking soda, milk, eggs, cinnamon sugar, and slat. It was suppose to take is around 16 minutes but it ended up taking us about 1 hour. We had to deep fry them and my dad said we couldn't do it inside. So my older sister gave us the idea to use the grill outside because it had a little stove on it. And it worked but it didn't cook the indise of the doughnuts. We had to rip them apart so the inside would cook and it worked!!! After we pulled them out of the pan we dipped them into a bowl of cinnamon sugar.
When we were all set and done we tried them. They tasted pretty good because there was cinnamon sugar on top. But they were still a little doughy but I feel that made them taste a little bi better. I think these were definetely one of the best things I made.
That's all for this week. I hope you enjoyed and make sure to check back next week!!

Near Death Experience

Dear fellow friends! This week I'll be blogging about why its important to watch out for traffic. In my first paragraph I'll be explaing why traffic safety is important. In my second paragraph I'll explain why I'm even writing this blog this week.
Traffic safety is important because you never know how well someone can drive. If they're a good driver than you're fine. If they're a bad driver then you should definetly watch out. So many thing could happen if you don't watch out for traffic. You could die, get hit by a car, you could become paralyzed and so many other dangerous life threating things. Amd don't forget when you cross the road, use a crosswalk because if you you do get hit and survive you can sue. Just remember to watch out for traffic.
I'm writing this blog today because the other day my two friends Sara and Lauren almot got hit by a truck. We were walking on the sidewalk about to get to the other side of the crosswalk. We started to go across and all of a sudden a truck honks at us for no reason. Then we realize that we're in its way and it was turing right where we were. Lauren and I screamed so loud we thought we were going to die. Sara just jumped back. That is why it is important to watch out for traffic.
I hope you enjoyed my blog today. I hope everyone after this blog will definetly take traffic into consideration. Check out my blog next week.

New Zealand

Dear fellow friends. This week I'll be talking about New Zealand. My dad was born in New Zealand and moved to America. In my first paragraph I'll be blogging about where New Zealand is and etc. In my second paragraph I'll be blogging about my family from New Zealand.
New Zealand is a country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It's continent is Oceania. It has 2 main islands. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington. New Zealand is just southeast of Australia. The currency of New Zealand is New Zealand Dollars. The offical language of New Zealand is Maori and they even have New Zealand Sign Language!
All of my family on my dad's side live in New Zealand. My dad was born in New Zealand. He is from Auckland. Even some of my cousins live in Australia! Everyone says my dad has an accent. Which he does but I'm so used to it I don't here it anymore. In fact just a week ago my cousin Clare and her boyfriend Matt visited us for a week. I was so happy to see her. I haven't seen her in almost 7 years. I've been to New Zealand multiple times and I love it so much. I reccomend anyone and everyone to visit New Zealand.
Well I hope all of you guys enjoyed this blog this week!! Don't forget to check back next week.

PR's in Track

Dear fellow friends! This week I'll be blogging about pr's or also known as personal records. With pr's you can decrease your time over the season. You can only decrease your time if you run faster. In my first paragraph I'll be explaining why pr's are so great. In my second paragraph I'll be talking about my pr's.
Pr's are awesome to get. Pr's are so awesome to get because it means you're getting better and faster. In the beginning of the season your times are usually pretty slow because you haven't run in a while or your body's not use to exercising. The coaches usually pick the people who have gotten way faster over the season or people who were already fast for championships and states. Pr's usually aren't beat by that much. They're usually only better from anywhere from 0-4 seconds.
I have gotten so many pr's in track. In my 4x800 relay teams I've been beating my pr's by 2 seconds every time I run. In the beginning of the season my best time was 2:42. By the end of the season my time was 2:34. In my 4x400 I beat my record by .3 seconds by the end of the season. Even when you run something for the first time it's still considered beating your pr. This one time in cross country my pr was 426 seconds. Everyone was so amazed that I ran around 7 minutes faster by the end of the season. Those are all of my pr's that I got after already running that race before.
That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed my blog and that you check in next week!!

Dear fellow friends! This week I will be blogging about spring break. Spring break is the time that you get off from school. In my first paragraph I'll be blogging about what people usually do during spring break. In my second paragraph I'll be blogging about what I'm doing this year for spring break. Spring break is usually my favorite break because spring is my favorite season.
People usually go to warm places for spring break. It's a time to do spring cleaning or relax by the beach. It's one of the most relaxing breaks because it's all warm out and everything is blooming. Like the flowers and all the trees getting their leaves back. Unlike winter break where it's all cold and snowy. But don't get me wrong I love snow. But my opinion is spring break is the best.
This year I'm going on a cruise with one of my best friends. We're flying down to Florida to get on the cruise. The cruise is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. The ship is going to stop in the Bahamas and for six hours we can do whatever we want in the Bahamas. We're going to Atlantis for swimming and to relax by the beach. This is the first time in forever that I'm going on a plane. It's also my first time on a cruise ship. I hope all goes well!
That's all for this week. I hope everyone has a great spring break and great rest of the day. Make sure to check in next week!!!

Best Friends

Dear fellow friends! This week I'll be blogging about best friends. In my first paragraph I'll be talking about the importance of having a best friend. In my second paragraph I'll be talking about my best friends. In my third paragraph I'll be talking about why I have best friends.
Having a best friend is so important because they are someone you can be at your worst with. They'll never judge you. I mean sometimes they will but it'll be for a good reason. Best friends are the people you do fight with but in the end you'll always make up and become best friends all over again. But most important best friends are always there for you. They would do anything to protect you and would make sure no one would ever hurt you. Best friends are the people that you feel closer with than your actual family.
I have four true best friends. Their names are Shriya, Caitlyn, Lauren and Molly. All of them are always there for me. Shriya is someone whose always there. Someone to lean on if you're feeling sad. Sometimes she's just a shoulder to cry on. But she's someone whose always fun to be with. Heck she even asked me to go on a cruise with her! Caitlyn is someone who will make you laugh. Caitlyn has so much energy it fills up the room She's one who you can mess around with and just have fun. Lauren is someone who you push you to do your best. If someone were to bring you down she would make you get right back up and would make sure they never did that again. Molly is kind of a mixture of everyone that I explained. She's fun to be with and will make you laugh so hard you pee! Everyone calls her the love whisperer because when it comes to boys and all that stuff she is practically and expert. What I'm saying is my best friends mean the world to me. I would do anything for them and vice versa.
I have best friends because they're always there for me. Sometimes they're just a shoulder to cry on but most of the time they are the people you want to spend every second with. I also have best friends because they help me make really important decisions that I can't make. I would hope that everyone has what I have because I am truly grateful to have my best friends at my side.
Well that's all for this week! I'll have another blog out next week. See you then!!

Track and Field Levels

Dear fellow friends. This week I'll be blogging about track and field levels. There are three different levels. They are freshman, junior varsity, and varsity. Varsity people are the fastest and the best people there are in track and field. In my first paragraph I'll be talking about the levels themselves. In the second paragraph I'll be blogging the advantages about running in the higher levels.
People only run freshman when they're in 7th-9th grade. After 9th grade you have to move up to junior varsity no matter how fast you are. People are chosen to be moved up to varsity. If you run freshman and you're really fast you might be asked to run junior varsity. In my cross country season I ran junior varsity. Freshman courses are always the shortest. Junior varsity and varsity are the same courses just varsity is more competitive.
If you run in varsity or are really fast in your junior varsity group you get to go to far away meets. This one time I got to go to New York City and Rhode Island. They were so fun. Freshman's get to do less because our team is always in it to win so we want the best of the best to be running for us. Sometimes I liked running freshman better because it was a shorter distance but in the end as long as I run I'm happy.
That's all for this weeks blog. Please make sure to check in next week for a new blog post!

First Track and Field Meet

Dear fellow friends! This week I'll be talking about my first ever track and field meet. A meet is just another word for race against other schools. I do cross country but this meet was very different. The things that people ran just was a little weird for me. In my first paragraph I will be talking about the meet itself. In the second paragraph I'll be talking about my experience at the meet.
The meet was just a small one. It was a small one because Guilderland hasn't had their invitational. An invitational is the first race that tells other schools that they better watch out because our team is great and ready to win. We only raced against one other school. That school was Albany. Guilderland had many more people than Albany. They must've had around 15-20 people where we had over 100 girls. The race was at 4:15 and ended around 6:30. There were so many different events like high jump, long jump, sprints, long distance and so many other amazing events. The race was so much fun.
I run long distance but yesterday I couldn't run because I missed the practice the day before the race. Long distance runners had to run a 4x800 meters. A 4x800 is where 4 people run 800 meters each. 800 meters is 2 laps around the track. Then they had to run just a single 800 meters. Some people were chosen to do a 3000 meters. 3000 meters is 7.5 laps around the track. I still went and cheered people on. Overall I had such a great time and I'm so excited for next weeks race which is on my birthday!!
That's all for today. I'll blog you next week!!

Track and Field Time Trials

Dear fellow friends! This week I'm going to be blogging about time trials that I had for track and field this week. In the first paragraph I'm going to be talking about what time trials are. In the second paragraph I'm going to be talking about Guilderland time trials.
Time trials are the things that show the coaches how well you would do in a real race. They also show how well you pace yourself and the time that you finish it in. My coach really wanted me to at least give distance a shot. So I agreed to at least try the long distance time trial. For distance you can either run 800 meter, 1000 meter, 1200 meter or 1600 meter time trials. Time trials are during our practices. Sometimes you are given a certain time that you have to run the time trial in.
I love running time trails because you get to race your friends but just for fun. This week during track I had to run a 1200 meter time trial. 1200 meters are three laps around the track. It is also three fourths of a mil. My time the time trial was four minutes and forty seconds. The day that I ran my time trial I was first out of everyone else. My friend was only one second behind me. I love time trials because they take way from the hard workouts that we sometimes have. That is what time trials are and why I love them.
Well that's all for this week. Make sure to come check out my blog next week for a new blog! Agal out!

Tang Museum Field Trip

Dear fellow friends! This week I will be blogging about my field trip to Tang Museum that I recently took. Tang Museum is an art museum. In the first paragraph I'll be talking about the museum itself. In the second paragraph I will be talking about my experience.
The Tang Museum is all about art. It has two stories that are both filled with art and sculptures. The Tang Museum gets these show pieces. They only have the show pieces for about a week. When I went there the show piece was about this guy named Hasan Elahi. Created by Prism. The whole piece was about how the FBI thought he was suspicious because of his name. They watched him for a very long time. I reccomend anyone that loves art or musuems in general to visit the Tang Museum. I reccomend this only because of my amazing experience there.
My experience at the museum was so awesome that I asked my parents if I was able to go again. We looked at the show piece for about 35 minutes. I was happy that we spent most of the time at that piece. After that we went to two other art pieces. Then after we all spilt up and got to look at whatever we wanted. We also had to take pictures of the art pieces that we liked. My favorite piece was the Hydrangeas Spring Song. This is my favorite one because its blue and blues my favorite color. I also liked this one because its sort of complicated but then its also simple. I also feel like this one speaks to me. That was my experience at the Tang Art Museum.
That's all for this week. Make sure to check out my blog next week!

Dear Fellow Friends! This week I'm going to talk about braces. On the 9th of March I got braces. Before I got them I was really excited about getting them. The day after all the pain started to kick in and I wish I didn't get them or that there wasn't any pain. In my first paragraph I'm going to talk about braces in general. In my second paragraph I'm going to talk about my experience with them so far.

Braces have been around every since the early 1700's. People get braces in order to straighten out their teeth. Mostly kids get braces but some adults do too. When people get braces other people have many nicknames for them. Such as train track, brace face, metal mouth and many other "creative" nicknames. Before you get braces on you usually have to get spacers. Spacers are used to make a space between your molar's so there is room to get the bands on. Bands are the metal bands that go around your molar's and they hold the wire in.

My experience with braces so far is terrible. It's really terrible because your mouth isn't use to them yet so they hurt a lot. For the first couple of days you have to eat only soft foods. Such as ice cream, jello, pudding, yogurt, banana's, smoothies, milkshakes and so many other foods that aren't hard. You have to eat soft foods because for the first couple of days your teeth hurt really bad. I'm suppose to have braces on for 2 years and then a retainer for another 2 years after that. In total the orthodontist is practically my home for the next 4 years. I hope as I have my braces for a longer time the pain will get less and less.

Well that's all for today! Come back next week for a new blog post to read!

Track N Field

Dear Fellow Friends! This week I'm going to be talking about how track and field is coming up. I started doing cross country and I absolutely loved it. So I figured why not try track and field. For track and field I'm going to be doing sprints. I wanted to do sprints so I didn't have to run as much as I did in cross country.

In this paragraph I'm going to talk about some events that you can do for track and field. You can do long distance, sprints, hurdles, relay races, or field events. All the long distance, sprints and hurdles those are all things that you run on the track for. Some of the field events are throwing, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw and hammer throw.

In this paragraph I'm going to be talking about sprints. For sprints you can either run 100 meters, 200 meters, 300 meters or 400 meters. 400 meters is 1/4 of a mile. I really wanted to do sprints because they weren't that long and you'll be done in a reasonable amount of time. I feel sprints are the hardest because if you fall behind once you won't have that much time to make it up unlike long distance where you have a lot of time to make up your mistakes.

I'm doing track and field because my coach thought that I would be really good at it. So I figured if I don't like it I don't have to do it next year. Well that's all for today. I'll blog you next week!

Mardi Gras

Dear Fellow Friends! Today I'm going to talk about Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is February 9th. It's also known as Tuesday fat or as most people say Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras is celebrated in many different places. The most known place that celebrates Mardi Gras is in New Orleans, Louisiana. They have parades and big celebrations. They also have much more. Mardi Gras colors are purple, gold and green.
Mardi Gras originated in New Orleans by a French explorer. Mardi Gras is a big celebration celebrated on a Tuesday because the next day is Ash Wednesday. For people who don't know what Ash Wednesday I will explain. Most people who celebrate Ash Wednesday are Catholic. There are also some other religions that celebrate Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is forty days before Easter. In those forty days it is called Lent. During Lent you give up something that is really important to you. They celebrate Mardi Gras the day before Ash Wednesday because you're supposed to eat a bunch food that is healthy for you. It is such a big holiday in New Orleans because of the Spanish and French influences over the settlements hundreds of years ago.
Some foods that are big in New Orleans are gumbo, jambalaya, beignets, king cake. Gumbo is okra. Jambalaya is a Cajun dish of rice with shrimp, chicken and vegetables. Beignets are little fritters. King Cake is a cake that is frosted with Mardi Gras colors and has a little plastic baby in it. Whoever has the baby in their piece of cake is the king. They are treated like kings for the rest of the day. Also the next year they are responsible for buying the king cake or hosting the next years party. King Cakes are probably the most bought cakes during Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is supposed to be this fun celebration that everyone enjoys.

Dear Fellow Friends! Today I'm going to talk about baking. Some of my favorite treats are chocolate chip cookies, brownies and cupcakes. I'm also going to talk about things that I've baked before and good things to bake for special ocassions. So in the next paragraph I'm going to talk about my favorite treats and why they're my favorite. In the second paragraph I'm going to talk about things I've baked before. In the third paragraph I'm going to talk about treats to bring to special ocassions.

Brownies are one of my favorite treats because I love chocolate so much. I also love the soft texture that brownies have. One time I was making brownies I put 1 1/4 cups oil instead of 1/4 cups oil. I also love chocolate chip cookies because my mom makes the best cookies in the whole world. I think I actually love chocolate chip cookie dough more than the cookies. I also love when cookies are little crispy. I love cupcakes because I love the softness of cupcakes. I also love chocolate pillsbary frosting on the cupcakes.

Some things that I have baked before are chocolate chip cookies, brownies, cupcakes, a cake. I've had to bake chocolate chip cookies for my sister's birthday that they were celebrating in school. My friend and I Caitlyn love to bake so whenever we go to each others houses we usually always bake something. My mom and I love to bake too. Sometimes my mom has a bunch of the kids in the neighborhood come over and we bake a bunch of treats. It's usually during the winter time.

Things that you can bring to special ocassions are cookies, brownies, rice krispie treats, cakes, apple pies or any kind of pie, cupcakes and many more. Now that's all that I have for this weeks post. Be sure to check out my blog next week. I'm gonna switch somethings up. AGal out!

Soup Kitchen

Dear Fellow Friends! Today I'm going to talk about my field trip to the soup kitchen. It was such a great experiance. I would love to do it again any time. My friend Molly and I decided to do it together because we thought it would be super fun. We served from 11:00 or 11:30 to 1:00. In the next paragraph I'm going to talk about how the day went and what we did.

We left class at about 9:15. We were leaving the school at 9:25 but the bus got there a little late so we didn't leave until about 9:40. When we got on the bus we were on snpachat and were taking funny phots of each other. I had such a fun time on the bus before we even got to the place! It took us a little longer to get there because we couldn't find the soup kitchen so we went in like 5 different circles but everyone thought it was funny that we couldn't find the place. Good thing we found it.

When we finally got there we signed in and got our nametags. After that we put our lunchboxes in the fridge and our coats in the office. We finally got into the main eating area and the instuctor Cookie was telling us what we had to do. She said the first thing to do if we were the waiters we would stand near the table and just smile. The second thing was to ask if they wanted salad or a drink. After that we would ask if they wanted pulled pork, beans or peanut butter and jelly. The adults would get a bigger plate and the children would get a smaller plate.

After they were finished with their meal we would ask if they wanted dessert and if they did we would give it to them. If they didn't want dessert they usually would leave and we would clean up their plates and plate settings. Then we would raise our hands and the wipers would come and wipe down the table with a wipe. After that one of the people waiting that table would get a new placemat and set it up again and then the next person would come. And that's really what happened the whole day. Tune in next week for a new post.

Fun things to do over the weekend!!!

Dear Fellow Friends! This week I'll be blogging about things to do over the weekend. Some things that I like to do over the weekend are watch netflix, go to the movies, have sleepovers, or hang out with friends. What I like to do over the weekend is watch netflix and have sleepovers and stay up super late. In the next paragraph I'm going to list more things to do over the weekend.

Some movies that I have seen in the movie theater were The Book Thief, Fast and Furious 7, The Longest Ride, The Crudes and much more. My favorite out of all them was Fast and Furious 7 because it was such a great movie and it had so much action. My other favorite was The Book Thief because it was during World War II and I love learning about World War II because it is so interesting to me. A new thats coming out is The 5th Wave. It looks so good I haven't seen it yet but I'm going 1/22/16 with my friends Shriya, Molly, Lauren, Caitlyn, and Syrena. It's about an alien invasion. There's a total of five waves. The first wave knocked out all the power. The second wave was an earthquake strong enough to shake the entire planet. The third wave was disease. The fourth wave was the aliens were amoung them. They could diguise as whatever they wanted.

Another thing to do are sleepovers. I love having sleepovers because we usually do such fun stuff. Like whoever falls asleep first makeup all over them. One time we colored in my friend's eybrows black and the next morning her eyebrows were still black even after she wiped them off!! Sometimes you can try to pull all nighter's. Sometimes we do what's in your mouth challenge which is always a blast! Somethings that you could do at a sleepover are have a movie marathon, pull all nighter's, play board games, what's in your mouth challenge or just hang out and have fun.

Things that you could do when you hang out with friends are go to the movie's, go ice skating, you could go to Flight or Skyzone, go to mall and have a shopping spree. The last time I went to Flight I broke my leg and my friend Molly broke her finger before we even got in the building. My mom is a little scared to let me go but I'm pretty sure I'll be more careful. Also the movie is a great place to go to. You could watch new movies that just came out and even watch in 3D if you can. All I know is that friends are great things to have. That's it for this week but make sure to check next week for a new blog!!

How to do better in school

Dear Fellow Friends! Some ways to do better in school are to  on task, and pay attention in class. The four core classes that I'm going to talk about math, science, language arts, and social studies. I'm also going to talk about how to raise your grades.
Math: Pay lots of attention in class and make sure you understand what the teacher is teaching you. Do your homework the day you get it. Also do your homework as soon as you get home. If you don't understand email your teacher or go in the next day and ask her. Some ways to raise your grades are to ask the teacher if there's anything that you could do for extra credit or stay after school and ask for extra help to raise your grades.
Language Arts: Pay lots of attention in class. Also make sure to raise your hand a lot to answer questions. Usually you get projects in LA a lot, so make sure to do your best work and don't slack off. Read lots of books and always do your best work in anything in LA class. Some ways to raise your grades are ask about extra credit or ask your friends to tutor you in grammar, punctuation or etc.

Science: Pay attention to your teacher talking and make sure you understand science. Science is usually the core class that some people have trouble with. I myself don't understand science that much. Some things that I do to understand science better is I pay very close attention to the notes and the labs that we do. Some things that you could do to raise your grade are extra credit or stay after to get review.
Social Studies: Pay attention in class and always listen to your teacher. Take very good notes and make sure you understand the lesson that your learning. Ex: American Revolution. Make sure that you know what century it was in, who won, why the war happened in the first place. To me I love social studies. It intrigues me so much. I love learning about what happened in the past to the country that I live in. Some ways to raise your grades are extra credit or stay after and get a review on the lesson that you're learning about.

Those are all some ways on how to raise your grades or how to just do good in school. I hope that you loved this week's blog post and I will be blogging next week. Don't forget to tune in. AGal out!!

Winter Break

Dear Fellow Friends! This week I'm going to talk about what went on over winter break. As most people know Christmas was over winter break and the New Year. Over break we also reached the hottest Christmas Eve in many years in the United States. I'm also going to talk about things that I did over break.

Some things I got were an IPad Mini, a Vera Bradley satchal, chesnut UGG boots, giftcards to starbucks and itunes. About a couple days after break I went ice skating with one of my best friends Molly Nelligan. We had a great time. We went to the ice skating rink next to The Egg. On New Year's Eve I went to my best friend Caitlyn's house for a party. Some people that were invited were Molly, Shriya, Mylie, Julia, and Caitlyn. We tried to pull an all nighter but ended up falling asleep. The next day was my brother's birthday. We decided to throw him a surprise birthday party and it was a lot of fun. Our family came over and lots of his friends.

Some fun things that you could do over break are ice skating, building snowmen, sitting by the fire drinking hot chocolate, having snowball fights or even building forts in the snow. Another thing that you could do over break is hang out with friend's. Friends are great people to have. They are always by your side. Now I'm going to talk about the hottest Christmas Eve in a very long time. It was in the mid seventy's. Sadly this year it didn't snow at all. Every year over break my siblings and I go outside and have fun in the snow.

So that's all for today's blog post. I haven't been blogging for a long time but it's a lot of fun. I will be definitely blogging next week so make sure to check my blog.
